[When Gabriel appeared on the network, it was clear that he was outside somewhere. Exactly where would be revealed a moment later.]

Hello, everyone. For the few of you who may not have spoken to me personally, my name is Gabriel Agreste, Misrecalled and fashion designer. This is simply to announce that after getting young King Ben's permission, I'll be setting up shop in Mouse Made Gear in the shopping plaza.

[He briefly turned the phone camera so the camera showed said shop front that he was standing in front of.]

The supplies and equipment here will make producing clothes for those both here and on the Isle significantly easier. I'll likely be spending at least part of the day here most days, so if you need me and can't find me at the school, this is likely where I am. Thank you.

[With that, he finishes his initial broadcast, though he's more than open to replies and questions. Those who pass by the shop, meanwhile, will find a handmade sign reading 'Temporarily Under New Management' in neat, crisp handwriting taped to the door where it can be easily seen.]

The stone statues! What gives?

Isle or Auradon, statues will be appearing of people from the Missrecalled and Misery-called's pasts. This can be someone they know from canon or CRAU, or even just once upon a dream. The statues will last as long as the event does - one week IC - or until removed by methods outlined in the event posts on each side.

While most of the information is in the event posts already, below are some clarifications the Mod Squad thought might be useful. If you have any additional questions, please drop them below!

Thank you and have fun!

Q> Can there be a statue of someone who is in game currently?
A No, with one exception. There can only be a statue of someone in game if the players agree OOC *AND* if the character finding the statue has no way to know the other player is n game and cannot find out before the end of the event. (For example one in Auradon, one on the Isle)

Q What if multiple people would have the same person as a statue?
AThen there is one version of the statue for each Missrecalled/Misery-called who would feel that way about that character, however... each Missrecalled/Misery-called can only remove one statue of each other person. So if Xion and Lea both miss Taiki for example, there can be two Taiki statues, but Lea can only talk away one, Xion can only talk away one.

QWhat if I shared this with the friends who played the characters my characters missed and now they want to join the game? Can I get extra invites?
A Any character who had a statue of them... you may invite the player without it counting as one of your invites for the month If you use the invite no later than 11:59pm EST June 30th, and the thread has progressed to the point where the statue has been removed by that IRL date. (If you need an extension those may be approved on a case by case basis, just ask the Mod-squad directly.)

QMy character is in Auradon/On The Isle but started in the other location, which statues do I use?
AEither the statues for the location the character currently is in, or a mix of the two if you want. But the results and way to remove them will remain locked to the location the character is currently in.

As usual, the horrible thing happened around midnight. There was a terrible noise like stone scraping on stone and the whole school shook briefly and then they appeared. Crudely hewn stone statues that still somehow managed to evoke the memory of who they were meant to represent to those who knew them.

The statues were of enemies, foes, rivals, anyone that one of the Misery-called might never want to see again. The statues look like rough hewn stone, but any attempts to deal with them the way one might a stone statue would fail. Even moving them would prove impossible, even with team work.

There is one blocking the doorway to every room used as a bedroom currently. A person could get in and out past them if they are small enough, nimble enough, or just don't mind losing a chunk of skin to the rough stone as they scrape past. Those ones would especially be targeted at whoever sleeps there.

But the rest of them will scatter the halls, making them hard to transverse. The majority of them were blocking what little light sources existed in the halls, making the passageways darker than usual. Much darker. Darker enough that it almost seems like a prime place for jump scares...

Blocking the doorway out of the school were three such statues. One was of a young man with short hair. One was of a young woman in a ballgown with a skirt that alone took up most of the doorway. And one was of a barefoot girl with impossibly long hair that snaked down the hallway, making a tripping hazard all the way between the door and the room Mother Gothel had claimed.

Getting in and out of the school until at least one of the statues was removed was going to be nearly impossible.

The statues in general couldn't be moved or broken in any conventional way, however. But some trial and error... or just happenstance might well provide the answer. If the Misery-called who knew the person the statue represented talked about the person to someone else in front of the statue... That would work. Though what they said would matter.

If they managed to dredge up something to say, some tale or anecdote or comment that was actually positive... the statue would vanish in a haze of black and silver glitter that would spread everywhere in easy reach and defy all attempts to clean it.

However, if the story or comments are negative, or give away some secret that the person the statue is of would not want shared the statue will explode in a shower of stone, one stone of which would hit the Misery-called hard enough to hurt but not to break skin. However where the stone struck the Misery-called would bear a new scar. A small pile of stone would remain where the statue had been, also resting all attempts to move or remove it, causing anyone walking past to have to carefully step over it so as to not trip. Which is not ideal if one is carrying something, or for example, running away from a crazed animatronic.

When The Mess Fades - A week later.
A week after they appeared any remaining statues would just vanish with another loud and horrifying noise. As would all the scars, all the rubble piles, and all the glitter. In their place where each statue had been would be a small bunch of grapes covered in rock dust. They are extraordinarily sour. In theory edible once the dust is washed off. In practice only the desperate would want to eat them. Whoever does eat them will be plagued by nightmares about whoever the statue had been of, even if they didn't know the person themselves. The nightmares will only happen for one night after eating the grapes, but if someone stretches out the grapes to eat a few every night for a week... that is a week of bad dreams. And also, again, they are sour. The sourest candy in the world isn't half as sour as these grapes.

It happened one fine spring morning. A sudden - and brief - windstorm reduced visibility outside the school to nothing for all of a minute right at dawn. Anyone down by the docks or asleep indoors would never have noticed anything amiss at all.

When the storm passed however, the front quad of the school was now filled with exquisitely detailed statues. Most were human. Or humanoid. Each looked captured mid motion, with stone looking as though it had moved as cloth and hair and feathers had. A perfect likeness, each of them, of someone caught in a moment of joy. A laugh, a smile, a toss of the head. The statues were utterly still and yet managed to convey a sense of life and motion and happiness.

The statues seemed to be made of stone at a first glance. Alabaster, marble, jet, and lots of precious and semi-precious stones rendered each in full colour as true to the person's actual coloration and clothing as stone can go.

However, despite looking like they were formed of stones, the statues would be impervious to any and all magic that might affect normal stone statues. No stone magic could move of break them.

Which is a bit of a problem because as lovely as they are, there are a lot of them crowding the grassy area, and they are all randomly every which way, like they formed a lose maze. In other words... they were too jumbled up to properly appreciate them the way one in a museum and they were in the way.

A closer look however would reveal one detail more. The various Missrecalled would find that they know who some of the statues are of. Because every statue is a representation of a friend or loved one of one or more of the Misrecalled. These could be people from their pat in canon or CRAU or even just someone they met.. once upon a dream. But they are all people who a Missrecalled has positive memories of. From fondness to love, there is affection there.

While there seems no normal way to move them, for they are too heavy for even the strongest to budge, they can instead be moved emotionally. If someone who knows the person the statue is of tells a positive story or recalls a memory that could be seen as happy about the person to someone else in front of the statue... The statue will fade away slowly in a cloud of harmless pink and blue glitter. When the statue is fully gone gone what remains where the statue had been is a small non-magical keepsake to remind the Missrecalled of the friend partially covered by the glitter. This keepsake could be a mini-fig sized version of the statue, or a photograph of them, or maybe a copy of a hair clip they always wore. Nothing high in fiscal value or of use in a practical sense. But something likely to be loved and cared for all the same.

When The Glitter Fades - A week later.
A week after the statues arrived, any that remain would vanish, as would the abundance of glitter in the grass. The keepsakes would remain, however. Each person, when they next either woke or returned to their room would find a small plastic jar of glitter for each statue they removed. Each jar of glitter would be in the colour or colours the Missrecalled most associates with the person the character the statue had been of.
